We tried several other gates and this is by far our favorite. Pros: decent-size opening. some gates have small openings that are terrible. This is a normal width, I'd. -Closed swing. I like it a lot! It has a button to "lock it" open if you want to stay. -magnet block easy. takes a while to learn but once you do, its so easy and requires only one hand. that is essential when carrying a child or what-not on other hand.
